Faith is the Evidence of Things Unseen

The closer you get to God, the more clearly you hear Him speak. I am blessed that I have been hearing the Lord speak to me about my purpose and many different areas of my life.

However, Satan has been working overtime to steal my word from God. I’ve questioned if what I was hearing was true and if it was actually from God. I’ve asked God repeatedly to bring me confirmation to what He has told me. And I’ve received many confirmations from Him in many different ways- through scripture, through His word, through my circumstances, relationship changes… but my flesh wasn’t satisfied. Some days my faith was strong, but I kept looking for reasons not to receive His word.

One day, I fell to my knees and ugly cried at God’s feet because my present circumstances did not reflect what He had told me. I questioned Him. I wasn’t expecting Him to say, “Where is your faith? Why do you not believe that I am in control and faithful to My word?” I realized that I wasn’t going to be convinced unless I had physical evidence. The confirmations I have asked God for, I was practically expecting nothing short of an angel from Heaven to approach me in human form and present me with a binding contract with all of God’s promises listed in writing, signed and sealed by Jehovah God Himself. But I later realized that that was not the essence of faith. And God wanted me to operate in faith and to trust Him.

I had a dream one night and I heard God say to me, “your faith is the evidence that you will receive the promises I have made to you. Hang on to it.” Then He directed me to Hebrews 11:1 which says, “Faith is the evidence of all things not seen and the confidence of things hoped for.” Wow! What He told me directly paralleled what was already in Scripture. This means that faith cannot be perceived by our physical senses. It must be perceived by confidence and trust in the spiritual realm even though we cannot see it or feel it. Which also explains why 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “Walk by faith, not by sight.”

I had another dream the other day when God spoke to me. In my dream I saw words appear on a screen that said, “I have given you My word. Protect it and don’t let it be stolen or destroyed by the enemy.” We all know that Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy all things of God. He comes to block our blessings by stealing our confidence and assurance that will produce our faith so that we will not receive the blessings that the Lord has promised to us.

Referring to 1 Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of faith, hold tightly to the eternal life which God has called you.”

Remember that the battle that we fight on this earth is not a physical battle, but a spiritual one. We are at war with the enemy that wants so badly to keep us out of God’s will by making us doubt what God has promised us. We must use faith (in which God has given us all the same measure of) as our weapon to fight this spiritual battle against the enemy. Stay firmly anchored in the Word of God and stay yielded to the Holy Spirit to develop the roots which will produce the faith that God has called us to have. Faith is more powerful than what we realize. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. In the words of Jesus, faith will make nothing impossible for you.
